I started this site in 2006 as a launching page for Get Fresh Designs. This site includes work from Get Fresh Designs and features my professional portfolio design work.
I first experienced design my senior year in high school through the courses Graphic Arts I and II. I was also able to take black and white photography. These classes introduced me to a whole new world. I continued my art education at Millersville University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Commercial Art.
After college I was hired as a Desktop Publisher at Applied Educational Systems. My duties for the first few years included creating forms, worksheets, PDF files for teacher manuals, color covers for teacher manuals, templates to be used to create teacher manuals and student worksheets, and static images for programs.
I was promoted to Senior Publishing Desktop Publisher and my duties expanded to include creating items for the company's Web site, maintaining the Web site, and creating and maintaining trade show materials.
After a few years the publisher department dissolved and I moved on in the company as a Media and Design Specialist. I was still responsible for previous tasks listed, but I took on even more responsibilities. These included being a photographer for photo and video shoots, planning for the photo and video shoots, editing photos taken, and editing video.
Working for a small company gave me the opportunity to experience a little bit of everything offered in the graphic arts field. |
